Other Book Clubs

Over the years I’ve participated in, or guest moderated, other book clubs and here are a selection of books I’ve reviewed that have been for book clubs other than my own. For the time being there are only a few featured, but there will be more to come!

Former Book Clubs

1,000 Books, Page to Screen, Rainbow Reads and the YA book clubs are, unfortunately, all casualties of Covid.

1,000 Books to Read Before You Die Book Club

This book club is named for the Workman publication of the same title and was run by my friend Charlie until it also disbanded due to the pandemic. I would occasionally step in and moderate for him as needed and this was one of the books I moderated for in 2019.

1,000 Books to Read: I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

Page to Screen Book Club

Page to Screen Book Club had only one meeting – in March 2020 – that no one actually attended because everyone was afraid the world was ending. Most places closed two days after the scheduled meeting. However! My sister and I discussed it at length, repeatedly, so I’m still going to count it here.

Page to Screen Book Club: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Rainbow Reads Book Club

Rainbow Reads Book Club was another short lived book club at the old book store due to the pandemic. But my friend Emma picked out a whole host of books and when I decided to read a book from every book club in 2019, I picked this one for Rainbow Reads.

Rainbow Reads Book Club: Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

YA for All & YA Book Club

These two YA book clubs I both ran and participated in. YA Book Club was held in conjunction with a creative writing class I taught for middle school and high schoolers in the summer of 2016.
